Coriander is a dual-purpose herb widely used in both leaf and seed form. The fresh green leaves (often called cilantro) add a bright, citrusy note to salsas, salads, soups, and curries. Once the plant matures, its dried seeds can be used whole or ground to season meats, breads, and spice blends.
Whether you prefer the fresh foliage or the warming, nutty flavor of the seeds, coriander is a staple in kitchens around the world—from Asian and Middle Eastern dishes to Mediterranean recipes.
Coriander grows well in hydroponic systems where stable moisture and temperature help produce healthy leaves and flowering heads. While traditionally grown outdoors, it adapts well to smart indoor gardens—especially when grown for its fresh leaves.
With the right conditions, coriander can be grown year-round indoors, providing fresh herbs at your fingertips without soil, mess, or pesticides. Good lighting and airflow are key for successful growth and seed production.
Begin harvesting leaves once plants are 10–15 cm tall. For continuous growth, cut only the outer leaves. If growing for seeds, allow the plant to flower and dry naturally. Harvest seeds once the flower heads turn brown and dry completely before storage.
