Description
About the Plant
Garden Sage (Salvia officinalis) is a perennial herb growing 40–60 cm tall, known for its distinctive, slightly bitter aroma and flavor. Its young leaves can be harvested continuously, while stems are best cut before flowering for drying. Because of its strong taste, sage leaves are used in small amounts. It is a classic herb in Mediterranean cuisine, pairing especially well with fatty meats such as lamb, as well as in soups, vegetable dishes, and marinades for meat and fish. Sage is also a traditional ingredient in herb blends.
Hydroponics & Smart Garden Use
With hydroponic systems or smart indoor gardens, sage can be grown up to 3x faster than in soil. Indoor hydroponic growing makes it easy to enjoy fresh sage year-round, even in cooler climates. Smart gardens ensure a controlled environment with optimal light, water, and nutrients, resulting in healthier plants and faster growth.
