Grow your own avocado plant at home with the ELHO Amazing Avocado Pot in Leaf Green. This clever indoor growing pot allows you to start an avocado tree directly from the pit using a floating support system. Simply place the avocado pit on the built-in floater, let it rest above water, and watch roots begin to form within a few weeks.
The outer pot holds water while the floating insert keeps the pit positioned correctly for successful germination. Once strong roots and leaves appear, you can transfer the young plant into potting soil and continue growing your own mini avocado tree.
From Pit to Plant
After enjoying an avocado, wash the pit and remove the brown outer skin. Place it round side down in the floater. Fill the outer pot with water and position the floater inside. Change the water weekly. After approximately 3–4 weeks, the pit will split and roots will begin to grow. Leaves usually appear after 6–8 weeks. When the plant reaches around 15 cm in height, replace the water with potting soil and place it in a sunny location.
